Communication can also fail when too many elements compete for attention.
I have never used this application before, but for the sake of argument I will assume it is excellent at what it does. However, I find it almost impossible to know what that is.
As soon as I look at one element, my attention is drawn away from it in order to look at something else I’ve seen out of the corner of my eye. I am unable to focus on anything, and my understanding is lost within the noise of the visual display.
I believe it is a quality of any good editor to assume the roles of creator, reviewer, and audience at the same time.
